3rd Centenarian bags Ist Prize in Declamation Contest May 07, 2019
Out of 31 leading Delhi Schools, Prabhjot Singh from Std X brought laurels to his alma mater, Guru Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School, Mansarover Garden, by bagging the coveted Ist position in the Declamation Contest, on the topic ‘I Demand A Safe Journey’. The competition was held on 2nd May 2019, at Gyan Mandir Public School, Naraina Vihar, at the launch of the commemoration of the 5th United Nations Global Road Safety Week. The theme of the event was ‘Save Lives, Speak Up’: Prabhjot Singh enthralled the audience with his oratorial skills and his passionate rendition, wherein he vociferously voiced the need for every individual to abide by the rule of the road to ensure safety. He urged that effort needs to be made to create awareness among children about these rules since they were ‘the most vulnerable, the high risk victims of fatality and permanent disability’. He concluded by stressing that it was imperative to ‘become safety minded and not remain safety blinded’. His convincing rendition drew loud cheers of appreciation from the audience.
