Learning joyfully and meaningfully without burden is the prerequisite and urgent need of the pre-school today. The content based curriculum has to be changed to child oriented curriculum. We have to find ways and means to introduce more joy , more play and more activity in learning and provide a very healthy cheerful and appropriate ambiance in the school. The years from birth till age 5 are most critical years. At this stage the children imbibe values, cultures and cognitive skills. It is the foundation of the whole life. Early education should facilitate the child’s right to learn in physically and emotionally safe environment. Educating young children has never been so exciting and challenging as it is today. The success of school is reflected by the self-esteem and confidence that the child is able to develop.
