Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 344th Martyrdom Day was observed at Guru Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School, Mansarover Garden, New Delhi on 30th Nov, 2019. A Special Assembly was conducted to mark the solemn occasion. The stage was aesthetically decorated with the fragrance of flowers, incense sticks and posters, with lines composed by Guru Ji. The proceedings commenced with a soulful rendition of the hymn, “Ram Simar, Ram Simar” in raag Jai Jai Wanti, by the Divinity Choir of the school. Sehajdeep Kaur of Std. X and Harshvardhan Singh of Std. IX apprised the congregation of the sacrifice made by the great Guru. Values like faith, sacrifice and selfless service were also highlighted in the speech. The essence of ‘Salok Mahalla Nauvma’, authored by the Guru, was put across to the gathering. Later, a few of these slokas were melodiously rendered by Harsimran Kaur and Bhumika Dhawan of Std. XI, which captivated the audience. The program culminated with a devotional chant in memory of the great martyr.
